Scheduled Reporting in Nagios XI Development

Its been an often requested feature to be able to schedule reports to in Nagios XI and development is nearing fruition for automated reporting.

We’ve been asked a number of times if it was possible set up Nagios XI to send out a specific report every Monday at 9:00AM to an email, and we’ve never had an easy answer for that task. But we did start to develop an answer.

This tool allows you to select any report that you’ve created and schedule and time and place for it to be delivered. Its based on cron so the timings will be familiar for those who have used cron, and intuitive for those who haven’t. The component also allows for multiple scheduling of the same report and allow for the those independent instances to edited independent of each other. That lot of ‘independents’ but I did want to put the point across that the flexibility of scheduling was certainly not forsaken for this task.

Also in this process there were some upgrades to Nagios XI itself to allow for any possible report to be hooked into a scheduled report.
